Think Again

Hey guys this story is sad, but I wanted to switch the genre around a bit! So here ya go my jammers! In Jamaa, there are alphas to help keep the animals safe from phantoms. But there is also police stations around that keep animals safe too! Their job is rough. I'm going to tell you the story of a police officer. His name was, Grand FireClaw. Tough name, eh?
Grand had been known for stopping a killers, he was well known around Jamaa. Another officer, Count VonProud was also very well known too. Count was always very competitive and always wanted to be the best at everything. One day, Grand and Count were sitting in the station when suddenly the alarm went off. "Let me get this one." Count said calmly. "We all go in together!" "No!" Count snapped back. "I got this!" Grand followed along anyway. They ran down to where the police cars and their radios chimed. It was head chief. "Yes sir?" "There has been a robber sighted at AJ Bank. He's running away on Canyons Pathway Avenue, so get there fast! He has stolen $19,000." Grand switched his radio to off. "Lets go!" "NO! I HAVE THIS!" Grand got in a car anyway, so did Count.
Grand started driving real fast because he wasn't gonna let this guy away for nothing. Count was driving up ahead, hitting Grand's car. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!!" Grand yelled. No response. When they got to the Pathway, the guy was running like crazy. Up and down, rolling on the ground to get away even.
Grand pushed the slick wolf down to the ground right before Count could run in his way and knock himself over. He pulled out his cuffs and the ninja put his hands up. Count took the bag of money, and they drove off to the jail.
When the two got back to the station, a visitor showed up. It was Greely! "My business is not here, but therefore it's there. I'm not so arrogant that I would save somebody to brag about it. Grand, thank you for stopping the robber from taking my money. I'm sure you'll do well protecting Jamaa. And you too, Count."
Count blew in flames. He pulled Grand's paw and flipped him on the solid ground. Hard. "I want to see Greely! You pathetic fool, you ran into my spotlight! Before you came I was the best Officer around! And I get acknowledged for nothing, except, 'You too Count.'!!?" The chief heard mumbling and came in the room. "What happened to Grand?" Count gulped. "Grand slipped on the ground and hit his paw on me." "Oh, ok. I guess that's true. You're one of my best, trust worthy, officers so continue along." Grand not dare a move. He just lay there in pain, the pain of Count's hatred. But the flames weren't to strong to clear out. "Words shall not be taken seriously. Words are words. They mean nothing. Unless you process in your mind they are, they mean nothing. They shall never have any meaning. People make the meaning to the words. But all in all, they mean nothing." Grand thought to himself.
8 months later. Grand was out in Jamaa Township, relaxing and minding his own business. Grand suddenly heard Chief's voice, saying "Grand the most deadliest killer is located at a town of houses. We need you and other officers to stop this man! Do you hear me?" "Yes sir!" Grand yelled. Then all of a sudden, Count called his radio. "You will not ruin my moment. This has been the biggest crime in months, and I want to take action. Not you Grand. I'm tired of this." "COUNT, WE MUST WORK TOGETHER OR ANIMALS WILL DIE!" Grand shut off the radio. Grand was the real tired one. He wanted to keep animals safe. It's not a competition!
Both Grand and Count rushed to the scene, along with other officers behind. "Out of my way, Grand!" Count whispered and yelled at the same time. "No, I'm tired of you thinking this is a competition! We work to save animals lives-" Count was already running up the steps. When Grand followed, Count was already face to face with the killer.
"Aye so ye found me. What can ya do?" Count pushed Grand. "THIS IS MY MOMENT!" He yelled. Grand struggled but got up and continued the fight. "I'M TIRED OF YOU!" Grand yelled. Count suddenly pulled out his knife. He kept stabbing Grand till he bled. "I want to tell you one thing that Greely once told me. I'm not so arrogant that I would save somebody to brag about it." Grand said, bleeding helplessly on the floor.
"There, how do you like that Grand! Being the lower level subject!" Grand stared at Count. "I like it much better because I don't have to compete with you." Count was shocked. But he ran upstairs, swooshing pass the killer and taking the animals climbing out the window. Grand got one of the time bombs that were only used during severe situations. "This is for Jamaa to have more peace, and I'm basically dead so.. I'm risking my life for Jamaa." Before the killer could realize what he meant, Grand lit the bomb with his matches in his pocket.. 3.. 2.. 1.. This was for Jamaa, not himself.
Count got back and told him the news. The Chief sobbed. "What evil could have done this too such a kind soul, who just wanted peace for Jamaa!" Count could feel all the guilt just soak through him. "This is very sad sir. I'm sure we'll all miss him dearly, sir." The Chief's eyes brightened. "We will have a ceremony for him!" Count couldn't believe that the Chief didn't acknowledge him for saving the animals in the house.
3 weeks later.. The Chief already went out and got everything set up to make it perfect. A buffet, flowers, seats, everything was ready! He gathered all the officers in. "We have gathered here today to worship a fellow who was unfairly killed 3 weeks ago for wanting peace." Everyone was tearing up. All the officers had to say something about Grand, and then it was Counts turn. "Count what do you have to say about Grand?" Count shakily got up and stood in front of everyone. "He was great, nice, and all." Count walked down with disrespect from all the officers. The area started to mumble. When it was over, Count had a sigh of relief.
Later that day, investigators studied the home and its ashes. They found the killer and Grand both there. One of the investigators studied Grand. Grand had Count's paw prints on his leg gauntlets! The news spread like a wildfire. "Count come here a minute." "Yes sir." Chief showed Count the newspaper. "Do you see that? Investigators found your paw prints on Grand's gauntlets! This is the oldest trick in the book for investigators. You. Killed. Grand." Chief shoved down Count's throat. "I guess rich people are too cool to care for other people eh?" "But-" "No buts. You're going to jail. I'm taking you to jail instead of executing you because Grand wouldn't want that. He wants peace. Not war. Consider yourself lucky." The Chief snorted at Count. He looked at the Chief one last time. "I didn't kill him. I murdered him." Count Laughed. But then Count heard Grand's voice talking to him. "I'm not so arrogant that I would save somebody just to brag about it."
